Marlins Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-3 at Chicago
|
The Florida Marlins topped the Chicago White Sox by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Mike Greenwell. Greenwell was 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Marlins on the day. Bryan Harvey was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 31 of 33 save opportunities. Florida goes to 65-39. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.
Greenwell provided the big break for the Marlins in the top of the third inning. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single, helping Florida to get the win.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Greenwell.
