5 Straight Wins for Marlins
|
The Florida Marlins got a strong performance from pitcher Roger Clemens, who stymied the Chicago offense en route to a 5-1 win at Wrigley Field. The first-place Marlins have won 5 straight.
It could have been a different outcome for Florida, had it not been for Richie Sexson, the 22-year old first baseman . Sexson contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Florida up, 3-0.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Marlins manager Stephen Ginter, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
