Pilots Prevail, 2-0, Over Washington
|
Randy Johnson pitched a gem to lead Seattle to a 2-0 victory over the Washington Senators. The winning pitcher was Johnson, now 10-7. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Jeff Brantley earned his 5th save in 9 chances.
Paul O'Neill, who is tied for 9th in the UL in doubles with 23, aided the Seattle cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-4 with a double.
"We did just enough to win," Johnson said.
Seattle is second in the United League West Division with a record of 62-43.
