New York starter Takehiro Ishii put a stranglehold on the San Diego offense. The right-hander had complete command of his screwball in leading the Mets to a 4-1 win. The Mets have now won 4 straight.

Doing his part for New York was designated hitter Olmedo Saenz, who stroked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, Saenz went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
