Dodgers Win 6-5 Walk-Off
|
Fans who came to Dodger Stadium watched the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Senators fight to the finish.
The Los Angeles Dodgers stopped the Washington Senators, 6-5, at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers got a big game from Shawn Green, who was 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The Dodgers raised their record to 47-58.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Derrick May came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Washington pitcher Scott Ruskin, he hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Los Angeles on top, 6-5.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Los Angeles field general Andrew Cole.
