Twins Lose to Reds, 8-4
The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Riverfront Stadium, knocking off the Minnesota Twins, 8-4. On the mound for Cincinnati was right-hander Mike Mussina, who played a pivotal role in the win. Arthur Rhodes converted his 23rd save in 24 tries. The Reds bumped their record to 61-44 with this latest triumph.

Jose Offerman had a big 2-run single for the Reds in the bottom of the third inning. With Cincinnati leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Darryl Kile and stroked the single to right. It was his 47th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Reds ahead, 4-0.

Offerman called the triumph "a good team win."
