The skies opened up and the rain fell at Joe Robbie Stadium.

The Chicago Cubs got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Zane Smith, but it was good enough for the club to take a 6-3 decision over the Florida Marlins. The 4th-place Cubs have won 9 in a row.

The result might have been different for Chicago, had it not been for Luis Gonzalez. The left fielder produced a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Cubs ahead, 1-0. For the game, Gonzalez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
