Seattle got a terrific game from right fielder Dante Bichette. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Montreal, 10-8. Bichette was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Montreal reliever Mike Jeffcoat picked up the win to move to 4-4. Eddie Guardado suffered the loss. The second-place Expos have won 5 straight.

One of the stars of the game was Montreal second baseman Jeff Kent. In the bottom of the 11th with two out, he got a fastball from Eddie Guardado and hit a walk-off 2-run home run. That made the score 10-8 in favor of the Expos.

"I like our resilience," said Kent.
