Athletics Snatch 4-3 Win
|
The Oakland Athletics and Baltimore Orioles played an exciting game at Oakland Coliseum.
Oakland beat Baltimore at Oakland Coliseum, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Matt Morris, who earned player of the game honors. Morris picked up the win for Oakland, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0.
John Olerud, who finished 3rd in the FL in on-base percentage with .396 in 1990, aided the Oakland cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk.
"This was a good win," said Olerud.
The Athletics' win now puts them at 47-57.
