Twins Get One-Run Win at Orlando
|
Minnesota Twins starter Pedro Astacio was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Orlando Devil Rays, 3-2. The winning pitcher was Astacio, now 6-8. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Paul Spoljaric, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Koji Akiyama, the 35-year old center fielder . Akiyama contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Minnesota up, 1-0.
"We were in it," said Orlando manager Ben Tennyson. "We just didn't score enough runs."
Minnesota now sits at 46-59, while Orlando falls to 56-50.
