Nabholz Dazzles in Pittsburgh Win
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates got a magnificent performance from pitcher Chris Nabholz, who muffled the Kansas City offense en route to a tight 3-1 Pirates win at Three Rivers Stadium. Bryan Harvey earned his 31st save in 32 chances. At 60-45, Pittsburgh is in second place in the Federal League East Division.
Nabholz, the winner, is now 11-4 after putting the clamps on the Kansas City offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while collecting 6 Ks.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Nabholz said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
