The New York Yankees got a superb performance from right fielder Scott Bullett. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The White Sox won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Bullett was named the player of the game. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Jose Mesa earned his 8th save in 8 chances. The win boosts the White Sox to 46-59. The loss puts the Yankees at 27-78.

It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Lenny Dykstra, the former first overall pick . Dykstra contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Chicago up, 6-5.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Chicago manager Tyler Vuxta.
