Belle Slugs Senators to 6-2 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 28-year old left fielder Albert Belle, the Washington Senators stopped the San Diego Padres, 6-2. Washington has now won 7 in a row.
Belle came through with some timely hitting for Washington. With the score 1-0 in the top of the third and one down, Belle hit a 0-1 slider for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 4-0, Washington.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said San Diego manager Matt Dodds.
