Twins Turn Back Orlando, 5-3
|
Minnesota and Orlando duked it out at Orlando Citrus Bowl and the Twins came out victorious.
The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at Orlando Citrus Bowl, knocking off the Orlando Devil Rays, 5-3. Starting pitcher Juan Guzman, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Rob Dibble, credited with the save, is now 18 for 20 in save opportunities.
Minnesota used a timely hit from Larry Walker to get the win. The right fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Twins on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Everything felt in sync," said Guzman.
Minnesota, now 47-59, holds last place in the Federal League Central Division.
