Senators Beat Visiting Blue Jays, 7-4
|
It was a fun time at RFK Stadium, where the Toronto Blue Jays and Washington Senators tangled.
Washington right-hander Erik Hanson pitched his team to victory over the Toronto Blue Jays at RFK Stadium. The final score was 7-4. Lee Smith was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 15 save opportunities.
With two out in the bottom of the fifth, John Flaherty hit a go-ahead 2-run single. It was his 16th hit of the season and with it the Senators took a 5-4 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Hanson said.
After today's action, Washington sits at 61-47, while Toronto falls to 59-49.
