Reds Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-2 at Boston

Spirited fans at Fenway Park greeted the Boston Red Sox for their clash with the Cincinnati Reds.
The Cincinnati Reds got a good effort from starter Joey Hamilton in defeating the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The final score was 5-2. Hamilton, the winner, moves to 15-5. He threw 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 5 walks.
Eric Davis put Cincinnati in front, 2-1, when he took Roger Salkeld downtown. His 2-run home run came with one out in the top of the sixth. It was his 27th home run of the season.
Davis called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The first-place Reds, at 66-43, now lead their division by 3½ games.
