Royals Lose to Rangers, 7-6
|
The Texas Rangers overcame a good performance by Kansas City left fielder David Justice to knock off Kansas City, 7-6, at Arlington Stadium. Justice hit 2 home runs. Jason Bere was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Texas is now 44-64.
John Kruk, who finished 5th in the UL in batting average with .282 in 1989, helped out the Texas cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the first baseman was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 4 runs.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kruk told the Texas Herald. "It's as simple as that."
