Cubs Turn Back White Sox, 7-5
|
Cubs second baseman Geronimo Pena put his stamp on his team's 7-5 win over the Chicago White Sox. Pena was 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Chicago in the contest. The 4th-place Cubs raised their record to 58-52.
Pena in the top of the fourth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Cubs trailing 4-3, he got hit by a pitch.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Chicago manager Anthony Perez.
