Multi-HR Day for Gomez as Orioles Overpower Mets, 5-4
|
A 4-RBI performance from third baseman Leo Gomez, who is tied for 6th in the UL in home runs with 32, led the Baltimore Orioles to a 5-4 win over the New York Mets. Baltimore is now 47-62.
Gomez came through with some timely hitting for Baltimore. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the eighth and one down, Gomez hit a 2-2 curveball for a 2-run home run. His 32nd home run of the season made it 5-3, Baltimore.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said New York manager Michael Kritikos.
