Dodgers Double Up San Francisco, 6-3
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers topped the San Francisco Giants, 6-3, in United League action at Dodger Stadium. The player of the game was Los Angeles pitcher and Roseville, California native Donovan Osborne. Osborne got the win, improving to 3-10. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. Osborne allowed 2 earned runs. Scott Radinsky was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities.
The Giants had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Dodgers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old first baseman Shawn Green came to the plate. Green hit a 2-run single on a 1-0 fastball from San Francisco hurler Omar Daal. It was Green's 102nd hit of the year.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Green.
Los Angeles, at 48-61, occupies 5th place in the United League West Division.
