Athletics Sneak Past Rockies, 3-2
|
Oakland Athletics starter John Mitchell turned in an exceptional performance against the Colorado Rockies at Mile High Stadium, resulting in a Oakland win, 3-2. Even with the win, the Athletics have a dismal 33-74 record.
Herbert Perry, who finished 3rd in the UL in doubles with 38 last year, contributed to the Oakland win with a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Perry said after the game.
