Cubs Win 6-5 Walk-Off
The Chicago Cubs knocked off the Milwaukee Creams, 6-5, at Wrigley Field. Rich Becker, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Chicago won. The left fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chicago reliever Tim Davis picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Mark Portugal was collared with the loss. The Cubs improve their record to 51-58 with the win over Milwaukee.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Jeff Frye came to bat in the bottom of the 13th. Facing Milwaukee pitcher Wes Gardner, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Chicago on top, 6-5.

Becker said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
