Tigers Prove Rude Guests, Win 6-0 at Baltimore
|
Detroit rode a fine outing from starter Ramon J. Martinez to victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Memorial Stadium. The final score was 6-0. In 7 innings, Martinez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Francisco Oliveras, credited with the save, is now 5 for 10 in save opportunities.
One of the stars of the game was Detroit second baseman Torey Lovullo. In the top of the second with two out, he got a curveball from Dave Walsh and hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-0 in favor of the Tigers.
"Feels good to get the job done," Lovullo said after the game.
Detroit now sits in last place in the United League East Division at 38-70.
