Dodgers Prevail, 8-6, Over San Francisco
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers had to overcome a big game from San Francisco shortstop Mike Bordick to leave Dodger Stadium with a 8-6 victory. Bordick was 3-4 with a triple and a double. Charles Nagy got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Scott Radinsky earned his 6th save in 7 chances.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fifth, with the game tied, Brady Anderson was at the plate when Los Angeles scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Dodgers to go in front, 4-3.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Anderson.
The Dodgers, at 49-61, sit in 5th place in the United League West Division.
