Spiders Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Cleveland pitcher Roger Pavlik did his part in helping his team beat the New York Yankees, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Mark Wohlers earned his 9th save in 17 chances. Cleveland has now won 4 games in a row.
Marquis Grissom, who finished 3rd in the FL in stolen bases with 52 last year, chipped in for Cleveland with a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 RBI.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Cleveland manager Wilson Ogle.
