The Chicago Cubs stopped the Milwaukee Creams, 6-3, behind an impressive performance from Jeff Frye. The 30-year old second baseman made life miserable for Milwaukee pitching. He went 2-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Scott Chiamparino, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 7-10. Chicago has a 3-game win streak, while Milwaukee has lost 3 in a row.
Frye came through with some timely hitting for Chicago. With the score 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth and two down, Frye hit a 0-2 curveball for a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season made it 4-2, Chicago.
