Blue Jays Clip Senators in Tight Contest
RFK Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Washington Senators.

The Toronto Blue Jays dealt the Washington Senators a 6-5 loss at RFK Stadium. Ellis Burks was the star on offense. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dean Hartgraves notched his 1st save in 1 chances.

Burks had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Greg McMichael, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Blue Jays a 6-5 lead. It was the 23rd home run of the year for Burks.

"We take it day by day here," said Burks, "and today was a good one for us."

With the win, Toronto goes to 61-50, while the Senators fall to 62-49.
