The New York Mets defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 12-7, at Memorial Stadium. New York first baseman Olmedo Saenz was named player of the game for his superb performance. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The Mets go to 63-48, putting them 4th in the United League East Division.

Esteban Beltre had an important at-bat with no one out in the top of the fourth, when he hit a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season put New York on top, 4-1.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Beltre told the New York Citizen. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
