Rockies Need Extra Frames to Get Past Padres
|
The San Diego Padres got a sterling performance from designated hitter Manny Ramirez, but the Rockies still prevailed, 9-6. Ramirez was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Colorado reliever Robb Nen got the win, raising his record to 2-3. Ramon Pena was tagged with the loss. San Diego's current losing streak is now 4 games.
Glenn Davis delivered for Colorado in the top of the 11th. His 3-run home run off San Diego pitcher Ramon Pena put Colorado in front, 9-6.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Rockies manager JD Morris. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
