Yankees Squelch Spiders Offense in Shutout Win
Right-hander Mark Clark mesmerized the Cleveland Spiders while leading the New York Yankees to a 5-0 victory. New York, now 40-70, holds last place in the Federal League East Division.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Yankees had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when shortstop Orlando Cabrera hit a run-scoring single. The single came off John Thomson and made the score 1-0, Yankees. Cabrera went 2 for 3 with 2 singles.

"I had everything working," said Clark.
