Martinez 'Lights Out' in New York Win
|
The Cleveland Spiders went down to defeat to Ramon J. Martinez and his New York teammates. The final score was 5-2 in favor of the Yankees. The Yankees saw their record improve to 41-70.
Martinez was effective for New York, seldom allowing the Spiders to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 121 pitches over 7 innings. He limited Cleveland to just 2 runs on 1 hit.
"I felt we were ready to go," said New York manager Tigerr Wolfe. "Our pregame was pretty good."
