Victory Pushes Blue Jays Record to 63-50
|
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the New York Mets, 2-0, in United League action at SkyDome, with Toronto pitcher Joe Grahe named player of the game. The Blue Jays bumped their record to 63-50 with this latest triumph.
The Blue Jays beat the Mets with some clutch hitting. The home run by Mark McGwire in the bottom of the fourth is a good example. With two down, McGwire gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"The old adage is true," said Grahe. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
