Hanson Hurls Complete Game at RFK Stadium
|
Washington Senators starter Erik Hanson kept the New York Mets hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. The Senators bumped their record to 71-42 with this latest triumph.
Hanson was effective for Washington, seldom allowing the Mets to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 143 pitches over 9 innings. He limited New York to just 2 runs on 5 hits.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Hanson.
