Expos Come Back Late to Top Orioles
|
Montreal Expos starter Jon Lieber pitched a strong game against the Baltimore Orioles at Memorial Stadium, leading the Expos to a 5-2 win. In 9 innings, Lieber surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Expos bumped their record to 67-46 with this latest triumph.
Jose Hernandez made it 3-2, Montreal, in the top of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring single. It was a big at-bat in the Expos win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Lieber said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
