Expos Trip Blue Jays in Extras
|
The Montreal Expos got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Ed Correa, but it was good enough for the club to take a 3-2 decision over the Toronto Blue Jays. The Expos own a robust 74-39 mark.
Mike Sweeney's at-bat in the bottom of the 12th was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 3rd and the game tied, 2-2. The Montreal catcher hit a run-scoring single off Scott Ruskin to put the Expos up.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Toronto manager Jose Mata.
