Red Sox Win at New York, 4-3
|
The losses keep piling up for the New York Yankees.
The Boston Red Sox trumped the New York Yankees, 4-3, at Yankee Stadium. Boston right fielder Todd Hollandsworth was named player of the game for his performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Pedro F. Borbon converted his 2nd save in 4 tries.
There was more than one reason the Red Sox beat the Yankees, but Hollandsworth's big at-bat in the top of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring double.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said New York manager Patrick McQuail. "The effort was great."
The current losing streak for New York has reached 8 games.
