Expos Topple Orioles as Sweeney Shines
|
The Montreal Expos handed the Baltimore Orioles a loss at Memorial Stadium. The final score was 11-6. Mike Sweeney was named player of the game for Montreal. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Montreal is now 68-46, Baltimore 48-66.
Montreal used the bat of Todd Hundley to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Expos ahead, 7-6. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Hundley said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
