The Arizona Diamondbacks stopped the Colorado Rockies, 5-4, behind an impressive performance from Moises Alou. The two-time All-Star made life miserable for Colorado pitching. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Reliever Chris Holt picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Rich Garces took the loss. The 5th-place Rockies have lost 9 consecutive games.
Moises Alou provided some late-game drama. In the top of the ninth, with two out and a runner on 1st, Alou hit a 2-run home run. It helped Arizona take the lead and grab the win.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Arizona manager Alen Maglajac.
