Spiders Bang Out 8-3 Win Versus St. Louis
|
The Cleveland Spiders picked up a win at League Park, knocking off the St. Louis Cardinals, 8-3. Starting pitcher Pete Schourek, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Schourek picked up the win for Cleveland, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 7-11. Cleveland is now 52-63, St. Louis 70-46.
Tony Eusebio gave Cleveland a good at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single to help send Cleveland to the win.
"We take it day by day here," said Schourek, "and today was a good one for us."
