Reds Slip Past Chicago, 4-3
|
Scott Brosius had a good game, but he could not keep the Chicago Cubs from falling, 4-3, to the Cincinnati Reds at Riverfront Stadium. The Chicago shortstop went 2-2 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times in the loss. Kevin Foster picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Scott Chiamparino was tagged with the loss. Cincinnati leads the Federal League East Division by 2 games.
Craig Grebeck had the critical at-bat for Cincinnati. With one out in the bottom of the 20th inning, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run. It gave Cincinnati the 4-3 walk-off win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Cincinnati manager Eric Deutsch.
