The Milwaukee Creams got a strong performance from pitcher Matt Young, who stymied the New York offense en route to a 3-1 win at Milwaukee County Stadium. Rob Murphy notched his 10th save in 16 chances. The second-place Creams lifted their record to 66-51.

Steve Finley did his part for the Creams, producing a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Finley said after the game.
