Fine Effort by Belle Not Enough in 7-5 Senators Loss
|
The Colorado Rockies had to overcome a big game from Washington left fielder Albert Belle to leave Mile High Stadium with a 7-5 victory. Belle was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The winner was Mike Timlin in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Andy Pettitte took the loss. The Rockies, now 54-60, have won 4 in a row.
Todd Pratt, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1991 draft, helped out the Colorado cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
