Boston right-hander Mark Thompson was in fine form, shutting out the Minnesota Twins, 4-0. The Red Sox now own a record of 43-74.
Thompson gave Boston a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 8.1 innings.
"Mark's tempo and rhythm were good," said Red Sox manager Brett Williams. "He was the key to us winning."
