Mitchell Helps Spiders Run Win Streak to 3
The Cleveland Spiders defeated the Chicago White Sox, 7-5, at League Park today. Leading the charge for Cleveland was third baseman Kevin Mitchell. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Roberto Hernandez converted his 6th save in 7 tries. Cleveland now has a 3-game win streak.

The Spiders got a big at-bat from first baseman Howard Johnson. For the game, Johnson went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 32nd home run of the season gave Cleveland a 6-5 lead.
