Cubs Double Up Pittsburgh, 4-2
|
Chicago Cubs starter Eric King was in fine form against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium, leading his team to a 4-2 win. King picked up the win for Chicago, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 15-6. The second-place Cubs lifted their record to 66-51.
Lloyd Moseby contributed an important at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run. It was one at-bat that helped send Chicago to the win.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said King, "and let the rest take care of itself."
