Rockies Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Washington
|
Colorado center fielder Daryl Boston had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Washington Senators, 8-5. Bob Ojeda was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Colorado is 57-58 and Washington, with the loss, 66-51.
Colorado grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the seventh, when Boston, who finished 5th in the UL in stolen bases with 50 in 1986, hit a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season put the Rockies out in front, 6-5.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Boston.
