Gant Slugs Devil Rays to 6-2 Win
Benefiting from Ron Gant's productive game, the Orlando Devil Rays downed the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-2. Gant belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Devil Rays. Orlando, at 60-57, occupies third place in the Federal League East Division.

Gant contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Orlando in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Gant took a curveball from Derek Lilliquist and stroked the home run to left. His 29th home run of the season allowed the Devil Rays to leap in front, 3-1.

"We'll savor this win," Gant told the Orlando Today, "then get ready for the next game."
