Extra-Inning Win by Rockies over Senators
|
The Colorado Rockies managed to get by the Washington Senators, 4-3, at Mile High Stadium. Colorado pitcher Jack McDowell took player of the game honors. The third-place Rockies improved to 58-58.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the 14th inning. With one out and the bases empty, the batter, Juan Gonzalez, hit a walk-off solo home run. It helped Colorado seize the win.
"This place was rocking at the end," McDowell said.
