The Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics provided some drama at Oakland Coliseum.

The Oakland Athletics managed to get by the Toronto Blue Jays, 3-2, at Oakland Coliseum. Oakland pitcher Ramon A. Garcia took player of the game honors. Even with the win, the Athletics have a dismal 38-78 record.

Oakland took a 3-2 lead on Greg Litton's 83rd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Litton hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Toronto pitcher Melido Perez shaking his head.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Toronto manager Jose Mata. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
