Orie Impresses in New York Loss
Despite a fine performance by third baseman Kevin Orie, the New York Yankees suffered a 10-8 loss to the Charlotte Knights. Orie hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Kevin Tapani was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. The third-place Knights now have a 4-game winning streak.

Chuck Knoblauch, who finished 5th in the UL in batting average with .290 in 1994, aided the Charlotte cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 5 with a double.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Knoblauch.
