Behind a solid performance from third baseman Chipper Jones, the Texas Rangers defeated the Orlando Sun Rays, 6-5. Jones was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Rangers. Mark Clear, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.2 innings.
