Reds Lose to Cardinals, 4-1
|
The St. Louis Cardinals got a stellar effort from pitcher Miguel Batista, helping St. Louis score a 4-1 win over the visiting Cincinnati Reds. The win puts the Cardinals at 61-58, while the Reds drop to 69-50.
The Cardinals beat the Reds with some clutch hitting. The double by Jose Vizcaino in the bottom of the first is a good example. With two down, Vizcaino gave his team the lead, 4-1, when he came through with the big hit.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Batista told the St. Louis Bulletin.
