The Kansas City Royals beat the Cleveland Spiders, 9-4, at Royals Stadium. Kazuhiro Kiyohara was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The 29-year old first baseman was a menace to Cleveland all day. Rick Reed picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-6.
