New York and Oakland duked it out at Shea Stadium and the Mets came out victorious.
New York Mets starter Takehiro Ishii was in fine form against the Oakland Athletics at Shea Stadium, leading his team to a 5-3 win. Darren Holmes notched his 11th save in 11 chances.
Cliff Floyd put New York in front, 4-1, when he took Jamie Moyer downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 33rd home run of the season.
"We did enough to win," said Ishii.
New York has a 4-game win streak, while Oakland has lost 5 in a row.
