Yankees Need Extras to Top Rangers
|
The Texas Rangers got a sterling performance from pitcher Matt Young, but the Yankees still prevailed, 4-3. Young was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball. Even with the win, the Yankees have a dismal 29-90 record.
With no one out in the top of the 13th, Chris Sabo stroked a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 84th hit of the season and put New York in front, 4-3.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Sabo told the New York Today. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
