Athletics Drop Another One
The New York Mets picked up a win at Shea Stadium, knocking off the Oakland Athletics, 8-6. On the mound for New York was right-hander Jason Isringhausen, who played a pivotal role in the win. Darren Holmes was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 12 save opportunities. The Athletics, at 51-68, have lost 6 straight games.

Greg Colbrunn hit a run-scoring double off Matt Morris in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Mets in front, 7-6. In addition to the double, Colbrunn had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
