Diamondbacks Get Road Win, 7-4
|
The Diamondbacks had to overcome a fine performance from Toronto pitcher Kevin Gross to grab a 7-4 win at SkyDome. Gross allowed 1 earned run over 6.2 innings. The win was credited to Danny Patterson in relief. His record improves to 7-2. Antonio Osuna took the loss. The Diamondbacks bumped their record to 71-49 with this latest triumph.
Arizona needed the clutch hitting of Bobby M Estalella to notch the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 6-4. For the game, Estalella had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort," said Estalella after the game.
