Senators Lose to Padres, 9-6
|
With shortstop Manuel Lee leading the charge, the San Diego Padres defeated the Washington Senators, 9-6, at RFK Stadium. Lee, who finished 4th in the FL in triples with 9 in 1989, went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. San Diego is now 58-62, Washington 71-49.
The fans who came in support of the Padres were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at RFK Stadium.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Lee said after the game.
