Athletics Prove Rude Guests, Win 7-4 at Toronto
Spirited fans at SkyDome greeted the Toronto Blue Jays for their clash with the Oakland Athletics.

Oakland Athletics starter Todd Stottlemyre was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-4. Stottlemyre got the win, improving to 6-14. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. Stottlemyre allowed 3 earned runs. Doug Brocail notched his 3rd save in 3 chances.

Oakland relied on the hitting of Andres Galarraga to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Athletics on top, 4-2. For the game, Galarraga had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Galarraga told the Oakland Today.
